We mentioned spending the Halloween holiday on our beautiful island a couple of weeks ago, but now that it’s getting closer we thought we’d go into a bit more detail about the celebration in Lahaina. If you’ve already booked your Maui condo rental, time to get down to business and pin down exactly how you’ll celebrate the holiday once you arrive!
The annual Halloween celebration in Lahaina has been famous for decades, and who wouldn’t want to spend the most haunted day of the year on Front Street? Lots of family fun, but also festivities designed for adults only. If you’ve never spent the holiday on Maui, and particularly in Lahaina, we’ll share a few of the details so you’ll know what to expect.
The charming character, balmy ocean breezes, and beautiful beachfront are enough to draw thousands of visitors to Lahaina even on an ordinary day. Mix in the fun, and you can’t beat it for celebrating Halloween. This year the 38th Annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade is set to kick off at 4:30 and make its way to Banyan Tree Park via Front Street, as the fabulously costumed kids have a blast being the center of attention. You can also expect t-shirt sales, fabulous food booths/vendors, games, photo opportunities and more for adults and children at Campbell Park, where the festivities kick off at noon and continue until 10 p.m. Beginning at 5 p.m. you’ll enjoy amazing live entertainment!
Love to compete in a Halloween costume contest? Everyone’s invited, and you could win $1,000 for first place! The contest is held beginning at 7 p.m. at Banyan Tree Park, so be sure to be there! A deejay will be there to spin the music so you can bet it will be a great time. If you’re interested in the costume contest, just register between 6 and 8:45 p.m. on Hotel street at the Pioneer Inn storefront.
